SUMMARY
The Aphem species was once thought to be something of legend. These small creatures live in high altitudes, and have been proven to be the reason clouds get “caught” on the mountain tops. While it is unknown as to how these creatures capture clouds, years of extensive research has shown these creatures ability to catch these clouds and move them as they please. They live in colonies topping at about 150 per colony. Research has shown that after the colony has reached its capacity, the most fertile Aphem gather in groups of 10-15 and travel away from the colony to start their own, leaving the elders to raise the young.
These creatures are built for living in high altitude mountain territories with scarce food. Their large nostrils and lungs allow them to breathe easily in high altitude places, taking in large amounts of thin air and dispensing it slowly. These creatures can take up to a minute and a half to let out a breath and take up to five seconds to inhale the air necessary for them.
The Aphem can be tamed by any species, and bond to them easily. When tamed by humans they are often trained to be emotional support animals due to their loving, cuddling nature and willing mindset. They’re often taught small tricks, and can be taught how to speak a small vocabulary of words, normally averaging at a range of about 20 words, and can be taught how to string them together. Eventually, miniature Aphem were bred due to the high demand for “finger sized” Aphem after a photoshop image came out featuring a Aphem resting comfortably on a finger.
